HorsePower is always looking to expand its team of wonderful volunteers.  We have many opportunities available for all skill levels from hands-on horse handling to supporting office work.  We are always looking for positive, energetic, safety-minded, responsible, dependable, caring, hard-working and FUN people to assist us in our efforts.  We hope to welcome you to our Volunteer Team!  

​All volunteers are required to apply online below, have a background check performed, and attend a volunteer orientation.

Once your application and background check have been approved, you will receive an email and invite to our next Volunteer Orientation. Any questions can be emailed to Info@HorsePowerTR.com.

What are the Requirements to be a Hands-On Volunteer with Horses? 
  • Must be at least 14 years of age
  • Must have medical insurance
  • Must have at least one year of experience with horses
  • Must be available for a weekly shift
  • Must pass a hands-on skills assessment that ensures the volunteer is comfortable/confident with the following skills:
    • Catching
    • Leading
    • Grooming
    • Tacking up 
    • Safety skills
  • A background check must be completed prior to volunteering
  • Must attend a volunteer orientation
  • If horse skills are rusty, we do provide mentoring

What are the Requirements to be a Barn Support Volunteer or a Critter Connections Volunteer?
  • Individuals without horse experience may still join our team to help with fundraising, marketing, database management, web support, cleaning, and many other important tasks
  • A background check must be completed prior to volunteering
  • Must attend a volunteer orientation
  • Must be at 10 years of age with a parent, or 12 years of age without a parent
